Hello My Name Is...
Jacqueline Beavers

Welcome to my web page and welcome to Pre-K. My name is Jacqueline Beavers I have been teaching at Mitchell Elementary for 6 years but been in the teaching profession for 12 years. I received my BS in Elementary Education and also in Early Childhood from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Ok. I started teaching at Cookson Hills Headstart in Tahlequah, OK. After 5 years, I made the move to Kindergarten at Westwood Elementary in Broken Arrow, Ok. Finally, made my move to Mitchell after one year of kindergarten in Broken Arrow in 2007. Yes, I teach 4 years olds all day and I love it. Pre-k is the foundation for each child's educational success. I help set them up for success through hands on learning. I keep myself up-to-date on the latest technology uses in the classroom as well as other professional development to better myself as a teacher.
I am not just a teacher, I am a mother of two teenage boys. I love to read, scrap booking, photography and my son's sports. I love gardening and brought that love for gardening to our school with gardening beds with the help of my best friend and fellow teacher, Christina Cowan. My passion for gardening started with my grandma. My love of teaching started with my sister and I playing school while growing up.
Some of my accomplishments at Mitchell are:In 2010, I became Mitchell's Teacher of the Year. I was so proud to represent our school. Some others are: helping create our school's Rise and Shine program, tutoring students, receiving Mustang of the Month (Sept. 2012), helping write a grant from the Jimmy Johnson foundation for our new playground equipment, and receiving over 30 grants from Donorschoose.org for materials for my classroom and school.
