Tulsa Public Schools hosted the annual Mayor’s Police and Community Coalition (MPACC) Youth Forum last week at the Education Service Center. Students from high schools across the district attend the MPACC Youth Forum to discuss policing in Tulsa, how to avoid gang involvement, and how to keep schools and communities safe.
Mayor Monroe Nichols, Tulsa Police Chief Dennis Larsen, and Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson spoke to students during the forum. Hannibal B. Johnson, author, attorney, and consultant, facilitates the forum.
After remarks from leaders, students participated breakout sessions discuss policing with police officers in small groups and then shared what they learned with everyone in attendance.
